Biography
Sergio Navarro is a Master of Arts student in Hispanic Literatures and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Romance and Classical Studies at Michigan State University. He’s originally from southern Spain (Granada).
Sergio graduated from the University of Granada with a bachelor’s degree in Translation and Conference Interpreting in German and English. He studied a year abroad in Germany (Universität des Saarlandes) where he specialized in audiovisual translation. During his final year as undergrad, Sergio worked for a translation company as an intern translating legal documents from English and German into Spanish. He’s also interested in the interpretation field in hospitals for non-English speaking immigrants in the US and court interpretation.
Research Interests: Translation in horror literature. The job of the translator and interpreter in US hospitals for non-English speaking immigrants coming from Latin American countries. Hispanic literature and science-fiction literature. Teaching Spanish as a second language.
