Biography
Andrea (she/her/hers) is a Master of Arts Student in Spanish as a Second or Bilingual Language and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Romance and Classical Studies at Michigan State University. She’s originally from Catamarca, Argentina, and she joined Michigan State University in 2020.
Andrea graduated with honors from Universidad Nacional de Catamarca with a BA in Teaching English as a Second Language. In 2018, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to teach Spanish in the United States. She went to Williams College in Williamstown, MA, where she performed both the role of Spanish Teaching Assistant and culture ambassador. She earned a MA degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Universidad Europea del Atlántico in 2019.
Andrea is currently directing a Teletandem project for Spanish learners at MSU in collaboration with la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Her research interests include learners’ identity, language ideologies, bilingualism, community engagement and language and social justice.
