Biography

Ryo Maie is a third-year PhD student in the Second Language Studies program. He received his MA from University of Maryland, College Park and BA from Kanda University of International Studies (Japan). His research interests include cognitive psychology of second language acquisition, usage-based and cognitive linguistics approaches to language development, and applied statistics in second language research. He has taught and been involved with Japanese studies at tertiary levels for three years and is interested in applying task-based language teaching in Japanese classrooms.
