Biography
Lisa Richman hold a doctorate in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University. Her work develops out of the intersection of race and gender theory and the history of photography. Specifically, interrogating the role of photography as a cultural object that can reflect and impact the spaces in which it is made/circulated. Most recently, her article “Migrant Mother: Race and Gender in the Making of a Photographic Icon.” can be found within The Routledge Companion to Photography and Visual Culture.
