Eun Hee Kim received her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she also earned a certificate of Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Education (SLATE). Her research focused on possible sources of second language learners’ linguistic misunderstanding and the ways to overcome such difficulties. Her works not only contribute to the field of second language acquisition/processing but also have the potential to inform educators, language teaching professionals and developers of language teaching software about the second language learners’ target language use.
Prior to joining Michigan State University, she taught different tracks and levels of Korean language courses at different institutions including University of Illinois and Rice University. She was recognized as an excellent teacher by her students almost every semester she taught. Her students really enjoyed and appreciated her passionate attitudes toward teaching and use of innovative technology in her class. As a language instructor and a researcher, she is interested in the types of linguistic structures that the learners of Korean can have difficulty with in learning and the tools to promote their understanding of Korean.
