Curriculum Vitae

Biography

Parisa Ghaderi is a visual artist, curator, educator, and filmmaker. She earned her B.A. in Visual Communications from Art & Architecture University (Tehran, Iran) and her M.F.A. in Art and Design from the University of Michigan.

She works across different media. She has made four short films and two animations and recently directed a performance about the border situation in the U.S. for Iranian immigrants. In addition, she has co-curated “Inner Fragments: Contemporary Iranian Women Artists,” which showcased original artwork from Iran, and traveled to the University of Michigan, University of Maine, Fitton Center in Ohio, Norwest Gallery in Detroit, and Michigan State University. Her other curatorial work includes “Not Far From Here,” which screened Iranian video artists at Eli and Edythe Broad Museum, and “Address Unknown,” at annex Galley Detroit, exhibited the work of eight immigrant artists from India, Columbia, Kosovo, Mexico, Honduras, Surinam, and London who work and live in the Detroit area.
